Consequently he frequently pretends to be reading stock market reports, when he is, in fact, reading Arabia Deserta, concealed in a Standard and Poor's binder. Arabia Deserta, reissued with much success in 1955, is C. M. Doughty's classic account of his travels in disguise among the Bedouins. Since Binx is an avid moviegoer, it is quite possible that he has at sometime read some book on film that proudly notes the parentage of the cinema.
